Silver Linings Playbook

I haven’t seen Silver linings Playbook yet, but I’m thinking of going tomorrow! Has anyone seen it yet? Anyway, I love this jacket, it’s my new favorite. I got it thrifting and it was way too huge, so I had it taken in though the back. It was also about 9 inches longer than it is now, and the frame just looked too heavy on me, so I cut off the bottom and glue-hemmed it with Quick Grip, and used binder clips to hold it in place. I think it turned out fabulously and I plan on wearing it a lot! And guess who is thinking of making a leather bikini top for Coachella with the extra leather… me! We’ll see if I can make it a cool DIY post!

With love from Hollywood,
Kier

  1. Silver Linings is definitely my pick for Best Picture. The performances are amazing. I love all your gloves and how they add a pop of color- gotta check out Target for this stuff!

Question- I was recently inspired by your coat recon (the white one) and took a beautiful camel hair coat that I found while thrifting to my tailor. It was too big for me- I’ve had it for years and had only worn it once. When it comes to altering things- did you wait for your tailor to do his thing before you chopped off the bottom (the white leather one in this post)? Why didn’t you just have him do that part too? Was it to avoid the cost of an otherwise easy alteration? Just wondering, since I’m new to this whole tailoring world. Thanks Kier!

    1. I didn’t realize that the length would still look too heavy for my frame even after it was taken in. Plus the sleeves don’t have visible stitching so I knew that the glue would be a good choice (I use it on all my shoes so it’s very sturdy) and yes, it saved me some money! <3
