How to wear Silver and Gold Together

When I was a kid I was convinced it was taboo to wear mixed metallics together. So, it’s easier for me to feel comfy doing it when I wear this bracelet. I’ve raved about this piece of jewelry before but it really is fabulously versatile. For some reason my old fashioned mind wears this bracelet made of stainless steel and gold, and says “See look, my bracelet has both silver and gold, so its okay that I’m wearing both!!” If you don’t have anything with both yet, consider just getting a cheap watch with a mixed band… Around the holidays it’s hard to avoid one of those Anne Klein watch displays, and some of them are fabulous- or in case you’ve been living under a rock, Michael Kors is a watch designing genius and now has so many different designs and styles that you’re bound to find something you love.  Another tip that makes me feel more confident when mixing metals is to play with texture, if one of the metals is shiny, like glittery silver and clear stones, I love stacking them around my brushed gold watch as a neutral background that adds a little extra pop to the silver. Again, I have a shiny skirt and a soft silver/grey sweater so they’re not competing, they’re complimenting.

My Favorite things

As promised I’m posting all about my favorite things and I am obsessed with this outfit for a lof of reasons, first, This sweater will never get old to me, I just got it at TopShop and it’s cut nicelty, soft, and easy to care for, the best part though, is that the stones are both silver, and amber colored, so again, it makes it easy to wear with browns, golds and beiges- if they were all silvery and shiny I would be more tempted to only stick with cool colors like black, pewter and white- good move TopShop. The second item in this look that is my favorite is my dress, here it’s a skirt, but it can also be a top, or obviously, a full dress. If you’ve never tried on or owned a Herve Leger, you need to. Herve Leger flatters everyone, it sucks in the right places and pushes out the right places, and every woman on this planet should know how it feels to wear Herve Leger, it’s like a pair of louboutins, or wearing diamonds, it’s almost a right of passage into becoming a woman, and you just won’t get it unless you’ve worn one. If you can’t afford their dresses (they are very expensive, and mine was a gift) check out their sales- which they do have, eBay.. or consider renting one for your special event… try Rent the Runway, which offers to send you two sizes for the same price so you get the perfect fit for sure. But my absolute favorite thing in this post, is my bag. It reminds me of Alexander McQueen, but it’s “Made Exclusively for Saks Fifth Avenue” and I got it at The Goodwill for $3. I get so many compliments on it, and it’s one of my prized possessions that I hope to have to pass down to my future daughter someday.

I’m sorry my posts have had so much time between, I have a lot to post, but its been hard to have time to sit down and link to everything and write a little. But I have a fabulous giveaway coming up- literally two boxes full of my favorite beauty products and secret weapons! And I’m trying to finish a DIY!! Cue the exhaustion!

P.S. I want to thank our sponsors again for everything, I am obsessed with the NYX makeup they sent- it’s way less expensive than MAC and it’s just as great, if not better. And I have so many new OPI polishes that I don’t even know where to start! The Body Wraps at Body Wrap LA are relaxing and detoxifying and the Pole Classes and Sexy Pilates Classes at Polistic beat the gym any day. You have all seen me with my sugar free Redbulls and you may or may not know how much I love yoga, and my new sleek black yoga mat thanks to Living Social. We made a difference in some children’s holiday this year and I’m so grateful and proud to have been able to throw this event. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!!

With love from Hollywood,
Kier
