The Yellow Trench

I love this rain coat, I got it yeas ago when Isaac Mizrahi had his collaboration with Target and it was on clearance, I think the reason was because even tho it’s marked as an extra small, it’s obviously huge.. I tie it in the back to create more shape, but you can see that the arms are still too large, oh well- I still love it.

The Wedge Sneakers

Okay, I pride myself with being honest with my readers, so I’m going to tell you the whole story. When Roger and I started dating he had a pair of white boat shoes that were Skechers and I begged him to get rid of them. I was so against Skechers, that I forced him to throw them out only to replace them with a very similar pair that was simply a different brand. I’m not really sure where the distain came from, but for as long as I can remember I just thought Skechers were awful and I hated them. There is even an amazing comedian Sarah Tiana who has a hilarious bit about Skechers and when I saw her perform it, I was hysterically laughing to the point that it was obnoxious; but I couldn’t stop! Click here to see her bit- skip to 7:50 to see the lead up to the best Skechers joke, ever, (slightly long, but it comes full circle, I swear) or just watch her entire bit- you’ll soon understand my sense of humor. Enjoy.

Anyway…… When the wedge sneaker trend started, I’d seen a pair here and there that I liked, but the pair I really loved I couldn’t get my hands on, The Dries van Noten Wedge Sneakers… See below:

See, aren’t they dreamy? Anyway, After about 6 months of ebay searching and to no avail, I started looking for a different solution. I saw some great Nike’s that I liked, but once I saw this pair of Skechers I knew, as much as I tried to fight it, they were the ones. So I asked for them in grey and silver, size 8.5 (thinking it’s better if they’re loose than tight) they fit true to size, which means that they’re a tad bit too big for me, because I’m somewhere between an eight and an eight and a half. But what I liked about them, is that they came with both grey and white laces, I decided to layer the laces to add a bit of interest. These shoes are so comfortable, it’s been hard to take them off. I might get another pair of exactly the same shoes because I hate wearing-out items that I love, so if I get two pairs, once the first pair is old and too worn to wear, I’ll have a brand new pair!! One thing that did bother me slightly is that the velcro straps both open from the same direction- Right to left, instead of mirroring each other. A little odd, but not a big deal. All in all, i’m not shy to say, Skechers has won me over in this shoe. I won’t be afraid to give them a second look in the future.

The Great Dane

We met this beautiful Great Dane named Lola while shooting these pictures and she was kind enough to pose for a few photos with us. As large as she was, and as slowly as I moved, she was still very skittish, but thankfully we got this great photo.

With love from Hollywood,
Kier

  1. haha, I love the skechers story! That’s so funny because when I first met my husband he also had these horrible white shoes that he just loved to death and I also made him get rid of them. They were shoes that he had worn for like 29 out of the 30 years of his life and they were literally falling apart. To this day, I still tease him about how I almost broke up with him over those shoes. And I seriously almost did. LOL.
Your shoes are too cute. And so is the dog. And your yellow trench. And you.
And thank you so much for your sweet comment about my newest “changes” on my blog. So glad that you get me. It is super annoying- everything. Anyways, glad that I have genuine people like you to read my posts :)
